Official AEMET danger at Valdelagua
Calculating…
Sampling the official georeferenced AEMET raster at 40.650542, −3.604481.

AEMET issues a daily meteorological wildfire-danger map using its official public fire-product service. The dashboard loads the same georeferenced product used by AEMET’s own website; the local screening remains supplementary.

Method: the dashboard maps the house coordinates into the official raster bounds, samples only the exact raster cell containing the house, and matches that color against AEMET’s official legend.

Animated weather comes from Windy. FIRMS thermal detections, the Valdelagua marker and the 10/20/50 km rings are drawn directly on the same map. Historical periods show thermal detections, not confirmed fire perimeters or burned areas.

How to interpret the status

  • Green: no recent FIRMS detection within 50 km and weather is not unusually adverse.
  • Yellow: detection within 50 km, or notable heat/dryness/wind.
  • Orange: detection within 20 km, or severe fire-weather combination.
  • Red: detection within 10 km. Immediately check Madrid 112 and EFFIS; call 112 for visible smoke or fire.

Important limitations

This is an awareness tool, not an official warning system. FIRMS is near-real-time satellite detection and may be delayed by satellite timing, cloud or smoke. Never wait for this dashboard before calling 112, leaving when instructed, or acting on visible fire and smoke. The threat analysis compares the direction of the nearest thermal detection with current local wind. The seven-day outlook is also a screening indicator; neither is an official warning or a fire-spread forecast.
